Course Overview:
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to develop and maintain a successful continuing education (CE) program within a higher education institution. It will cover key aspects of CE program management, from understanding your service area and potential students to marketing your programs and supporting student success.
Course Outline:
Lesson 1: Learning Your Service Area / Environment
Analyze your community and identify potential student populations, their needs, and the competitive landscape for continuing education.
Lesson 2: Collaboration Between CE and Academic Departments
Explore strategies for building strong partnerships between continuing education units and academic departments to leverage resources and expertise.
Lesson 3: Student Funding Sources
Learn about various funding options available to CE students, including financial aid, scholarships, grants, and employer tuition assistance programs.
Lesson 4: Credentialing Programs
Understand the importance of offering credentialing programs and how to develop and implement them effectively.
Lesson 5: How To Market What You Have
Develop a comprehensive marketing plan to promote your CE programs and attract students, utilizing both traditional and digital marketing strategies.
Lesson 6: How To Assist CE Students, Their Issues, and the Life Cycle
Gain insights into the unique needs and challenges faced by CE students and learn how to provide effective support services throughout their educational journey.
